LAURENCE
ST-GERMAIN

Laurence St-Germain has pulled out all the stops in the slalom at the 2023 Alpine World Ski Championships. Against all odds, she won the gold medal after two breathtaking runs in Méribel.

Laurence St-Germain made her Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, where she finished 15th in the slalom. In the 2018-2019 season that followed, she finished in the top 10 on the World Cup circuit for the first time, first in Austria and then in Stockholm.

It was also in 2019 that St-Germain made her debut at the FIS World Championships, finishing sixth in the slalom to earn the status of best Canadian in the event. The following season, she scored her first individual top-five result on the World Cup circuit in St. Moritz.

St-Germain enjoyed her most consistent season on the World Cup circuit in 2020-2021, finishing eighth overall in the slalom. In her second Olympic appearance at Beijing 2022, she finished 17th. Her crowning achievement came in 2023, when she won the World Champion title in slalom.

In addition to skiing on the World Cup circuit, Laurence is pursuing university studies in biomedical engineering.
