The “King” is the winningest mogul skier of all time. He holds a distinct edge in consistent run-to-run performance.
Before the 2018 Olympics, Mikaël was one win away from mogul version of a Grand Slam. This includes winning the World Cup rookie of the year award, the Crystal Globes (he has won both the mogul and overall freestyle titles in each of the last eleven years), the World Championships (in both single and dual moguls), plus Olympic gold.
With a thrilling final run at Phoenix Snow Park in PyeongChang on February 12, 2018, Kingsbury locked down his claim to being the best freestyle skier in history, adding an Olympic gold to his absurd mogul resume. And hitting a Grand Slam at the same time.
To top off 2018, Kingsbury won the Lou Marsh Trophee as Canada’s athlete of the year. He is the first ever freestyle skier to win the award.
Kingsbury added another back-t0-back gold medal performance at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships for a total of 8 titles. At the 2022 Games in Beijing, he added a silver medal to his impressive collection and became the first ever mogul skier to win 3 Olympic medals. He now holds 26 crystal globes and has become the most titled FIS male athlete in history.
