LAURIE
BLOUIN

Laurie Blouin is a prominent name in the world of snowboarding. With a passion for the sport that’s infectious, she strives constantly to push the boundaries and inspire the next generation of women to make their mark in international sports. With two World Championship titles, a silver medal in slopestyle from the 2018 Olympics and a gold Big Air medal from the X Games in 2019, Blouin is enjoying a productive career.

Laurie made her World Cup debut at home in Stoneham in February 2012 and stepped up on the podium for the first time at the August 2015 World Cup. She earned a gold medal in slopestyle at the 2017 FIS World Championships after a flawless second run.

At the PyeongChang Olympics in 2018, Blouin was the embodiment of perseverance. After recovering from a rough fall in training and battling strong winds in the competition, she came away with a silver medal, the first for Canada in women’s snowboard slopestyle.

In her first X Games appearance in 2019, in Aspen, the athlete made headlines by taking gold in the Big Air event. She added a silver medal in slopestyle at the 2020 X Games in Aspen, a Big Air bronze at the X Games in Oslo the same year, and another bronze in slopestyle at the 2021 Aspen X Games. At the Worlds that same year, Stoneham’s pride and joy won the first world title for Canada in women’s Big Air with a cab double 1080 indy on her third and final run.

At her second Olympic Games, in Beijing 2022, Laurie was a few points shy of yet another medal but ended at the foot of the podium with a respectable fourth place in slopestyle.
