Despite a sudden end to the season in 2020 due to COVID-19, the Canadian contender managed to make the World Cup team for the start of the 2021 season. Those early contests are historically the most difficult of the competition year, but Antoine intends to show that he fully deserves his spot among the world's elite.
The skier started practicing cross-country at a young age with his parents in Gatineau Park. Admittedly, living just a stone’s throw from one of the most impressive cross-country ski playgrounds in Quebec allows for rapid development. Antoine then got his first taste of competition with the Skinouk team, and quickly rose in the ranks to become part of the elite group. A few years later, he joined the junior national team and in 2018, the senior team.
A member of the Centre National Pierre-Harvey, Cyr is currently the top-ranked Canadian in the various distances. The young athlete lived his Olympic dream for the first time in Beijing in 2022. Since then, he has multiplied notable results on the world scene, placing 6th in sprint at the Ski Tour in 2023 and 4th in classic ski at the Drammen World Cup in 2024.
