Like all talented boarders, Eliot entered the International Ski Federation (FIS) circuit at age of 15, a logical progression for a youngster already competing in the 12-14 age group at the age of 10.
Eliot won his first gold medal, followed by a bronze medal, on the circuit at Big White, B.C. Those results gave the young athlete his ticket to his first World Cup in Switzerland. A fracture during a training session turned out to be just a temporary setback. When Eliot took up his board again the following year, he seized the opportunity to qualify for all the World Cups in addition to securing a place at the Olympic Games. He was 16 years old and had been playing in the big league for only a year.
Eliot’s outstanding results in the 2020/2021 season put him among the favourites to win an Olympic medal. He came through, winning the silver medal in the individual event and the bronze in the first-ever team event at the Beijing Games. Since then, the Sainte-Marie snowboarder is at the top of the World Cup standings, clinching 7 wins and 10 podiums in 12 events during the 2024 season and won the Crystal globe.
