Charles Paquet finished 13th out of 51 triathletes, 1 minute 4 seconds behind the gold medalist in an epic competition on the Seine, the Champs Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe at his first Olympic Games in Paris. Not bad for a little guy from a town of 7,000 inhabitants! A point of pride for the man who proudly represented Côte-Nord and Port-Cartier.

Charles Paquet picked up two of the most important results of his career in the final weeks of the qualification window for the Paris 2024 Games. In mid-May 2024, he achieved a career-best result in the World Triathlon World Championship Series, finishing fifth. Two weeks later, he finished seventh at the stage of the same series in Cagliari, Italy. Both results were achieved in Olympic-distance events. This came a year after he finished seventh at the World Triathlon 2023 World Championship Series stopover in Montreal, which took place over a sprint distance.

Paquet scored his first podium at the World Triathlon Cup in October 2023, where he finished third in Brasilia.

In 2022, Paquet was part of the Canadian mixed relay that placed fifth at the World Sprint Triathlon and Relay Championships in Montreal. He then competed at the Commonwealth Games, where he finished in the top 10 of the men's race. He went on to win bronze in the men's race and silver in the mixed relay at the 2022 Americas Triathlon Championships.

Charles has moved to Spain to concentrate on his triathlon career, while continuing his studies in finance at university.
